The hot news that Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Thalapathy Vijay are likely to collaborate in a new mega project has caused a sensation in the film industry. Already Kamal acted in an offscreen role in Vijay’s ‘Leo’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he reprised his role as Agent ‘Vikram’.
Anyways coming to the hot news it is well known that Vijay’s last movie before foraying into full time politics is ‘Thalapathy 69’. It is confirmed that H. Vinod of ‘Sathuranga Vettai’ fame is helming the project. The maverick filmmaker has made three consecutive films with Ajith Kumar namely ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’, ‘Valimai’ and ‘Thunivu’. Now all eyes are on him as he will be wielding the megaphone for a Vijay project and the official announcement about this film will be out soon.
Now the hot buzz is that the politically charged story of ‘Thalapathy 69’ is the same that H. Vinod narrated to Kamal earlier and the project was announced as ‘KH 233’. It is said that the multiple national award winning senior actor felt that the subject suited Vijay more and when the project was dropped he happily wished the director well to move ahead.
It is now said that H. Vinod has written a special role for Kamal in ‘Thalapathy 69’ and the scenes that he shared with Vijay will be massive treat to fans of both the top heroes. We have to take this with a pinch of salt as it is too early for any official confirmation. However if it materializes then the Vijay – Kamal combo will be one of the biggest casting coups ever in South Indian cinema.
Kamal Haasan has had mixed fortunes in the past few weeks as his few minutes appearance in Prabhas’s ‘Kalki 2898’ received rave applause while his long in the making ‘Indian 2’ directed by Shankar was panned by both critics and fans. The 68 year old thespian is currently acting in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Thug Life’ in which Simbu and Trisha are his costars.
Vijay on the other hand is awaiting the release of his next magnum opus ‘The Greatest Of All Time’ directed by Venkat Prabhu that also stars Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Meenakshi Chaudhary and Trisha in a cameo appearance.
