The news that famous Tamil film director N. Lingusamy’s brother has passed away suddenly has shocked celebrities who are condoling his family in person and on social media. Kesavan, the elder brother of Lingusamy, apparently suffered a heart attack this morning and though he was rushed to a hospital succumbed. He was 60 years old and is survived by his wife, children, brothers, nephews, and nieces.
It is well known that Lingusamy’s is a closely knit family and he and his three brothers Radhakrishnan, Kesavan and Subhash Chandra Bose jointly owned their production house Thirupathi Brothers which has bankrolled several hit films including ‘Deepavali’, ‘Paiyaa’, ‘Vettai’, ‘Kumki’, ‘Goli Soda’, ‘Rajini Murugan’ , ‘Idam Porul Eaval’ and ‘Uttama Villain’. The films had top stars of Kollywood including Kamal Haasan, Suriya, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vijay Sethupathi and Sivakarthikeyan.
Lingusamy’s debut movie ‘Anandam’ was based on his own family with Mammootty playing the role of elder brother Radhakrishnan and Murali, Shaam Ganesh and Abbas playing the roles of the other three brothers. Kesavan the second brother was running the family-owned Thirupathi Grocery near Kumbakonam. It is said that his mortal remains are kept in his hometown and the last rites will be held this evening.
It is noteworthy that the late Kesavan’s son Vinod has acted in ‘Golisoda 2’ and he has played the hero in the soon-to-be-released ‘Ra Ra Rajasekhar’ and ‘Naan Than Siva’.
