Trisha Krishnan needs no introduction as she is known as a versatile actress who has made a significant contribution to the South Indian film industry. Her talent, dedication, and philanthropy have earned her a special place in the hearts of her fans and admirers.
Meanwhile, former AIADMK politician A.V. Raju who was recently dismissed from the party, has created an unsavory buzz in one of his recent interviews on YouTube. The politician claimed that during the infamous Koovathur Resort horsetrading incident in 2017 one of the AIADMK MLAs demanded to spend a night with a famous actress and it was arranged by paying the said actress Rs 25 lakhs as fees. Since the politician mentioned Trisha’s name which was later muted several film industry celebrities including director Cheran and actress Gayatri Raghuram condemned this interview and said that action should be taken against Raju.
Trisha Krishnan took to X to condemn the politician writing “It’s disgusting to repeatedly see low lives and despicable human beings who will stoop down to any level to gain attention. Rest assured, necessary and severe action will be taken. Anything that needs to be said and done henceforth will be from my legal department.”
The Trisha – Mansoor Ali Khan Controversy
It is worth mentioning that a few months back actor Mansoor Ali Khan made derogatory statements against Trisha in bad taste. He had expressed his disappointment about not getting to manhandle her as a villain claiming that he did that to other actresses during the eighties and nineties. Trisha reacted strongly to him by writing “A recent video has come to my notice where Mr Mansoor Ali Khan has spoken about me in a vile manner. I strongly condemn this and find it sexist, disrespectful, misogynistic, repulsive, and in bad taste. He can keep wishing, but I am grateful never to have shared screen space with someone as pathetic as him, and I will make sure it never happens for the rest of my film career as well,”
What happened in Koovathur Resort in 2017
For the unversed in February 2017, Tamil Nadu witnessed a power struggle within the ruling AIADMK party. O. Panneerselvam, the then-caretaker Chief Minister, rebelled against the faction led by Sasikala Natarajan the close aide of the late former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha. To counter Panneerselvam’s unexpected move, Sasikala swiftly gathered over 100 MLAs and took them to the Golden Bay Resort in Koovathur. The MLAs stayed there from February 8 until Edappadi Palaniswami won the Trust Vote in the Assembly.
During these ten days, the resort was under intense scrutiny from the public and the media.
The AIADMK booked all 56 rooms in the resort, including a large villa, conference halls, and swimming pools. For the first three days, the resort was asked to switch off the CCTV. The MLAs’ phones were reportedly confiscated, and TV viewing was restricted.
Despite these restrictions, the MLAs appeared relaxed and even brought their families along.
In summary, the Koovathur resort drama involved high-stakes politics, secrecy, and a significant financial burden on the AIADMK party
